a Theater Thursdays reading

at The Barn Theater

715 Federal Street, Belchertown, MA

An aging ruler, an oppressive police state, a restless polarized people seething with paranoia: it’s a dangerous time for poets. Two of them—the great Kit Marlowe and the up-and-comer Will Shakespeare—meet in the back room of a pub to collaborate on a history play cycle and flirt like young men with everything to lose.

The reading features Pioneer Valley favorites Myka Plunkett as Marlowe and Tracy Einstein as Shakespeare.

Come join us to experience the play that was awarded a 2021 Edgerton Foundation New Play Award and won the Houston Theater Awards 2022 Best Play/Production, Best New Play, and Best Actors and was named a finalist for the Steinberg-ATCA New Play Award!

This reading is made possible by the generous support of the Amherst Cultural Council.

Please note: In the best interest of all our patrons and personnel, we are requiring audience members to wear masks while at the performance. Masks will be available at the door. We no longer need proof of vaccination, though we strongly urge you to take this measure of safety. Thank you for your continued support in these difficult times.

Tickets are free, and Silverthorne welcomes donations so that we can continue making our work accessible to all.
